Unfortunately, this astronaut, while being born in this nation, identifies as being really a Mexican. We see this all over the country where illegals, and their legal off-spring think Mexican first. Even the children of illegals are taught Spanish first, Mexican flag first, and always open borders.
Like most Mexicans Jose Hernandez thinks all this "cheap" labor is good for this nation. Certainly the FORTUNE 500 that gives generously to the racist political party of LA RAZA thinks so. However, depresses wages of $200 - $300 BILLION per year is only good for Wall Street. It is a causes of the meltdown of the American middle class.

He may have soared a gazillion miles in outer space, but back here on Earth, U.S. astronaut Jose Hernandez has stepped knee-deep in controversy.
Hernandez, the California-born son of Mexican immigrants, is a full-fledged media star in Mexico. Fans here followed his every floating, gravity-free move during two weeks recently as he Twittered from the Discovery space shuttle mission and gave live interviews to local TV programs.
After the shuttle returned to this planet last week, Hernandez told Mexican television that he thought the United States should legalize the millions of undocumented immigrants living there so that they can work openly in the U.S. because they are important to the economy.
Officials at NASA flipped. They hastened to announce that Hernandez was speaking for himself and only for himself.
"It all became a big scandal," Hernandez told television viewers Tuesday. "Even the lawyers were speaking to me."
Hernandez was back on Mexican network Televisa's popular morning chat show, where he has seemingly been a fixture, to update host Carlos Loret de Mola on how he was adapting back on Earth.
Loret de Mola asked Hernandez, 47, about the controversy, and the astronaut said he stood by what he had said a day earlier on the same program, advocating comprehensive immigration reform -- a keenly divisive issue in the United States.
"I work for the U.S. government, but as an individual I have a right to my personal opinions," he said in a video hookup from a Mexican restaurant owned by his wife in Houston. "Having 12 million undocumented people here means there's something wrong with the system, and the system needs to be fixed."
He added that it seemed impractical to try to deport 12 million people. In the previous day's conversation, he spoke of circling the globe in 90 minutes and marveling at a world without borders.
Hernandez, whose first language is Spanish, grew up picking cucumber in the fields of California. He joined NASA in 2004. His orbit-trotting on the Discovery mission included a salsa demo and mini-science lessons for viewers back on Earth. He made taquitos for his fellow fliers.
TV host Loret de Mola said his audience was flooding him with one question above all: How does a humble son of peasant immigrants manage to become an astronaut?
Hernandez cited two crucial factors: a good education and parents who forced him to study, who checked his homework and stayed involved in his schooling.
"What I always say to Mexican parents, Latino parents, is that we shouldn't spend so much time going out with friends drinking beer and watching telenovelas, and should spend more time with our families and kids . . . challenging our kids to pursue dreams that may seem unreachable," he said.
Hernandez said he planned to visit Mexico soon to take up President Felipe Calderon on an invitation to the presidential residence for a meal. Calderon extended the invite during a nationally televised videoconference with the astronaut before the Discovery voyage.
Calderon's and Hernandez's parents hail from the same state, Michoacan, and the president has called the astronaut his paisano.

After the shuttle returned Friday, Hernandez told Mexican television that he thought the U.S. should legalize the millions of undocumented immigrants living there so that they can work openly because they are important to the American economy.
Officials at NASA flipped. They hastened to announce that Hernandez was speaking for himself and only for himself.
"It all became a big scandal," Hernandez later told television viewers. "Even the lawyers were speaking to me."

His parents, Salvador and Julia, had migrated from Mexico to Northern California in the 1950s in search of work. They eventually became U.S. citizens and raised four children, including Jose, the youngest.
As a kid, Hernandez continued to visit his parents' home state of Michoacan (his cousins and aunts and uncles have been featured repeatedly in interviews in the Mexican media) and lived what he has called the typical life of a migrant worker, moving constantly with his family to follow the crops.
It was a second-grade teacher who persuaded Hernandez's parents to set down roots near Stockton to give their children a better education and more stable life. Young Jose excelled in math and today traces his dream of becoming an astronaut to the Apollo spacewalks he watched on TV.
After earning bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering, Hernandez applied every year for 12 years to enter the space program, finally being chosen in 2004.
Mexicans were over the moon when they learned that someone with such close ties to their country would be reaching such heights. Normally, space travel is not a popular topic here, perhaps because it is such an other-world experience.
Hernandez has tweeted in English and Spanish, with the moniker Astro_Jose. His orbit-trotting on the Discovery mission included a salsa demo and mini-science lessons for viewers. He made taquitos for his fellow fliers and fielded questions from YouTube users.

Felipe Calderón should be treated in the same manner as any other tyrant; we should not even allow our people to vacation there. He does nothing to curb illegal aliens from coming here he just encourages it by doing nothing and pushing for reform in our country.
Hopefully someday there will be reform but stronger now than ever, new immigrants should be here on a trial bases only and should already be self sufficient and not be allowed social services for at least 20 years. And should be picked by special immigration reform government which means picking equal amount from each country and the max a year should not extent 5000 people. People coming in the millions is ridicules we don’t have enough jobs now and so we give them to the new people coming or maybe they are already filing for some sort of social service since after saying I do to citizenship they are entitled to a free ride.
Example, if they come and 6 months down the road they need government services we will be able to send them back this should show no free rides here, they laugh at us now as it is, they must be able to pull their own wait, not depend on a free ride like our government allows now. That’s the American dream to illegal immigrants everything’s free.
The American dream for American taxpayer has long been gone and illegal immigration has a play in that also.

Border states should put a lean on Mexico's foreign aid monies to help cover for some of the services they steal from the tax payers . I don't understand why we have to help his people here and give Mexico money also

In Biting the Hand That Feeds You, Congressman Steve King of Iowa noted:
What would the May 1, 2006, illegal immigration boycott look like without illegal immigration?

Are Congressman King's comments baseless rhetoric, hateful speech, or actual facts? The MSM (mainstream media) and proponents of illegal aliens consistently bombard us with reports of an individual illegal alien that has done what most legal immigrants do: work hard and succeed. However, what they rarely tell us about are any of the negative aspects of illegal immigration. This report will detail some of the dark, negative aspects of the impact of illegal aliens that you might not be aware of.
Let's start with a broad summary on how illegal immigration is or can affect you personally. Here are just some of the negative side affects of illegal immigration:
•easy conduit for terrorists entering the USA
•massive escalation in crime
•surge in foreign national prisoners to support for years
•increases Balkanization of US
•increases multiculturalism/segregation/divisiveness instead of the American melting pot
•increases desire for Aztlan (reclaiming SW states for Mexico)

•dramatic impact on society and infrastructure, including education
•destruction of fragile ecosystems in American SW
•main cause of emergency rooms and hospitals closing as well as service cut backs

Let's now examine The Darker Side of Illegal Immigration in greater detail.
When it comes to the impact of illegal immigration, terrorism must be at the top of the list due to its potential to directly harm the greatest number of Americans. It is worth noting that three of the four terrorist pilots in the 9/11 attack were in the country illegally. 9/11 was a precursor. The next big incident could be far greater and kill many more Americans.
A recent Homeland Security report, A Line in the Sand: Confronting the Threat at the Southwest Border (a MUST READ!), reports that in 2005 at least 850 people from countries of "special interest" were apprehended crossing the southern border. How many more successfully crossed is unknown. How many actual terrorists have crossed is unknown. We do know, however, that they are there - see Al-Qaida Operative Nabbed Near Mexican Border.
By the way, "countries of special interest" is government-speak for terrorism conducting and sponsoring countries.
As noted in a June 2006 article, Broken, by Kenneth R. Timmerman, on a Homeland Security publication, "The report reveals that 45,008 aliens from countries on the U.S. list of state-sponsors of terror or from countries that protected terrorist organizations and their members, were released into the general public between 2001 and 2005, even though immigration officers couldn't confirm their identity." (emphasis added) Maybe Bin Laden is not in Pakistan ...
As reported in a February 2005 USA Today article by Mimi Hall, Despite new technology, Border Patrol overwhelmed, the numbers are going up and DHS is concerned as they admit they only catch an estimated 1/3 of the border crossers. The article goes on:
"... the Border Patrol arrested 39,215 so-called "OTMs," other-than-Mexicans, along the Southwest border. In 2004, the number jumped to 65,814.
Those figures worry intelligence and Homeland Security officials, who say al-Qaeda leaders want to smuggle operatives and weapons of mass destruction across the nation's porous land borders. James Loy, deputy secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, told Congress last week, "Several al-Qaeda leaders believe operatives can pay their way into the country through Mexico and also believe illegal entry is more advantageous than legal entry for operational security reasons."
T.J. Bonner, president of the National Border Patrol Council, says the Border Patrol has "reliable intelligence that there are terrorists living in South America, assimilating the culture and learning the language" in order to blend in with Mexicans crossing the border.
"We really don't know who comes into this country illegally over the Southwest border," Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., says. "This is a big problem."
The independent 9/11 Commission's report warned in August that "the challenge for national security in an age of terrorism is to prevent the very few people who may pose overwhelming risks from entering or remaining in the United States undetected." And that's a daunting task along these stretches of border in the Southwest."

"The holes that remain in our border security systems are not small," House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, says. "They are gaping, and they are glaring to our terrorist enemies. They are coming for us."
A March 2005 Christian Science Monitor report, US-Mexican border as a terror risk, notes:
"It's not clear how many terrorists or people having connections to terror groups, may have entered the US as OTMs. But FBI Director Robert Mueller, in a House Appropriations Committee hearing March 9, 2006, said he was aware that individuals from countries with known Al Qaeda ties had entered the US under false identities."
As noted in an October 6, 2006 article in the UK Times On-Line, Seizures of radioactive materials fuel 'dirty bomb' fears, by Lewis Smith:
"Smugglers have been caught trying to traffic dangerous radioactive material more than 300 times since 2002, statistics from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) show. Most of the incidents are understood to have occurred in Europe.
The disclosures come as Al-Qaeda is known to be intensifying its efforts to obtain a radioactive device. If you do not think this is possible, check the response time of heavy police reinforcements and the swat team to your children's school and then estimate how many children could be killed in that time by just a few terrorists with automatic weapons and grenades. In just five minutes, most of everybody in the school would be dead, especially with the "lockdown" procedures adopted by most schools.
Do not make the mistake of assuming that illegal alien terrorists are stupid. They are diabolical, cunning, determined, willing to die for their god fighting the "infidels," and want to kill as many Americans as they can. That includes your children in one of their most vulnerable locations – your local school. The nation was griped by the "massacre" at Columbine High School a few years ago. As tragic as that was, imagine what a few committed illegal alien terrorists could do in one of our schools. It has already happened in other schools to other people's children. The article goes on regarding:
"... the brutal takedown in 2004 of a school that served children from 6 to 17 years old in Beslan, Russia.
Some 100 terrorists were involved, nearly half of whom were discreetly embedded in the large crowd of parents, staff and kids who showed up for the first day of school; the rest arrived for the surprise attack in SUVs, troop carriers and big sedans. Across a three-day siege, 700 people were wounded and 338 killed, including 172 youngsters.
More than 1,000 men, women and children, including babies, were penned in an unventilated gym and a cafeteria. As the days passed without food or water and inside temperatures rose to 115 degrees, survivors were eating flowers they'd brought for teachers and fighting for urine to drink out of their shoes in desperation. Women and some children were repeatedly and continuously raped.
Adult males and larger male students were used as "forced labor" to help fortify the building, then shot to death. Bodies were thrown out of an upper-story window, down onto a courtyard. Attempts at negotiation by responders were used by the terrorists strictly as an opportunity to buy time to solidify their fortifications.
Surviving hostages were surrounded by armed guards standing on deadman switches, wired to explosives. All entrances to the building as well as stairwells and some interior doorways were booby-trapped. Youngsters were forced to sit on window sills to serve as shields for snipers. "Black widows" (potential suicide bombers) were rigged so their bomb belts could be detonated by remote control when leaders considered the timing was right. The terrorists stayed cranked up on some type of amphetamine to keep awake.
... When troops finally stormed the school in a counter-assault on the third day, "pure pandemonium" reigned. Soldiers and the kids they were trying to rescue were gunned down mercilessly. Explosions touched off inside started multiple fires.
Responders who made it inside had to jump over trip wires as they "ran" up stairs under fire from above. By then terrorists were holding hostages in virtually every room. Rescue teams were subjected to continual ambushes. Gunfights occurred predominately within a 6-ft. range, with some responders having to fight for their lives in places so cramped they couldn't get off their hands and knees.
Some children successfully rescued from the building were so crazed by thirst that they ran to an outdoor spigot and were killed by a grenade as they filled their hands with water."
The police and swat team could not save the students and teachers at Columbine from two moderately armed but amateur killers. Illegal alien terrorists targeting schools will be heavily armed and thoroughly trained to kill and will not be holding captured kids for ransom. Nor will they persuaded to "can't we all just get along?" by some touchy-feely psychologist hostage negotiator and they will not be influenced by "peace-now" demonstrators singing Kumbaya. They want to die serving their cause and will try to kill as many American children as they can before they themselves are finally killed.
If you do not think this is possible, check the response time of heavy police reinforcements and the swat team to your children's school and then estimate how many children could be killed in that time by just a few terrorists with automatic weapons and grenades. In just five minutes, most of everybody in the school would be dead, especially with the "lockdown" procedures adopted by most schools.
Do not make the mistake of assuming that illegal alien terrorists are stupid. They are diabolical, cunning, determined, willing to die for their god fighting the "infidels," and want to kill as many Americans as they can. That includes your children in one of their most vulnerable locations – your local school. According to many experts (see the links at end of this section) the terrorist sleeper cells are already in the US waiting word to launch their attacks. It would not surprise me if the attacks started right before the 2008 elections in an attempt to push the nation further left like they did in Spain.
Proper border security and identification are key elements to keep them out and arresting them when here so what happened in Belsan does not happen in a school in your town with your children being killed this time.

When you see the MSM media and ACLU railing against some part of the Patriot Act or other government program designed to catch domestic and infiltrated terrorists in the USA, consider the words of terrorism expert Dave Gaubatz in a February 2007 article, Sleeper Cells in the United States and Canada:
"There is every reason to suspect that we will endure suicide missions by Islamist sleeper cells. They are already in place. They are waiting for the right time. I know this from experience.
... Children are the ones who suffer in wartime and I want to prevent any child from ever having to experience a terrorist attack."

... In March 2005 a leaked FBI report concluded that "US Government efforts to date also have not revealed evidence of concealed cells or networks acting in the homeland as sleepers."
One book published in late 2005 repeated the claim of 5,000 Al Qaeda sleeper cell agents in the United States. This claim is made in the context of Osama's "patient" long term plan to execute an "American Hiroshima" in a simultaneous nuclear attack on seven major US cities. This is beyond even Hollywood's wildest imagination.
The terrorists will not go after hard targets. They will attack soft targets that provide a high degree of success, the most casualties, and the greatest impact on the American psyche in an attempt to weaken our national will on the fight against terrorism.
Are they waiting to attack your children's school?
It is only a matter of time before the USA is hit again. The authoritative ROLL CALL publication says Hispanic Caucus Members told it confidentially that the Caucus told Speaker Pelosi not to change a thing because as written illegal aliens will get the benefits.

A CHC member, who requested not to be identified, said the group is urging Pelosi to ensure that everyone — including illegal immigrants — will be able to receive services . . . 'We’re pushing to include everyone in the health care bill. Everyone,' said one CHC member.

The fact that the Hispanic Caucus appears to be satisfied with the language the way it is suggests that our allies are right.
Roll Call reported that the CHS emphasized to Pelosi that she must block any language that would restrict the federal health plan to illegal aliens.
Once again, it appears that the Hispanic Caucus cares more about illegal aliens than Hispanic American citizens.
At a time when negotiations are breaking down because of the gigantic projected costs of the House plan and as lawmakers try to find ways to cut benefits to -- and increase taxes on -- U.S. citizens, it is most telling that so many Members of Congress are insistent on protecting beneifts for illegal aliens.
Any federal health plan must include verifiable prohibitions against inclusion of foreign citizens who are illegally in this country.

Mexicans begin celebrating their most cherished national holiday today, Independence Day, but indelible memories of unprecedented violence a year ago will make for a somber affair in some parts of the country.
Children's parades and outdoor parties have been canceled in many cities. Security is tight, with metal detectors set up at public squares where celebrations will take place.
Nowhere is the mood more subdued than in Morelia, capital of the western state of Michoacan and hometown of Mexican President Felipe Calderon. A year ago, it was the site of the first deliberate attack on civilians in an ever-escalating anti-drug war launched by Calderon.
It was just minutes before the traditional grito, a late-night cry for independence that re-creates the 1810 gesture by Mexican hero Miguel Hidalgo, which launched Mexico's rebellion against Spanish rule.
Mexicans everywhere pack into town plazas on the night of Sept. 15 to join in the grito, and then spend Sept. 16 celebrating independence.
In Morelia last year, as bells tolled and Michoacan Gov. Leonel Godoy began to emulate the cry, assailants tossed grenades into the crowded Colonial-era plaza. Eight people were killed and more than 100 wounded.
It was a traumatic affront, both for the target -- innocents uninvolved in the drug war -- and the timing, coming amid the most important tradition uniting Mexicans. Given the site, the attack also seemed a direct challenge to the president's authority and the offensive he has been pressing against cartels since December 2006.
Godoy declared that today will be a statewide day of mourning. But, speaking at a news conference Monday, he also said that the grito from the balcony above Morelia's town square will go ahead as scheduled. And so will a military parade planned for Wednesday.
At the same time, the usual street festival of music, food and dancing was canceled, Godoy's public security office said, and people arriving to join the ceremony in the plaza will for the first time have to pass through metal detectors.

"They are scapegoats," Esperanza Fajardo, the wife of suspect Juan Carlos Castro, said in a telephone interview. The families say they have witnesses who can place the men in another city on Sept. 15 of last year.
Morelia Mayor Fausto Vallejo Figueroa on Monday accused federal officials of failing to keep the public informed about the case and who was really behind the attacks.
"We citizens of Morelia need to know with certainty what exactly happened," he said in comments carried by the official news agency Notimex.
In theyear since, Michoacan has become one of the most tumultuous fronts in the drug war. A corruption probe by a secret, top-level team of federal government officials led to the arrests in May of dozens of mayors and other state officials in Michoacan who are accused of aiding La Familia.
In July, suspected members of La Familia launched coordinated attacks on police and security forces across Michoacan. Twelve federal agents were ambushed, tortured and killed, their bodies dumped at the side of a road, in one of the single bloodiest episodes.
Morelia is not the only place where security will be beefed up this week. Local and federal police, along with the army and, in some cases, the Navy, will be deployed in 13 of Mexico's 31 states, Mexican media reported, concentrating forces where the threat of violence is deemed greatest because of recent attacks and ongoing battles over territory among powerful cartels.
Yet in many parts of Mexico, the show will go on. Chilangos, or residents of Mexico City, would sooner jump off the Chapultepec Castle than forgo their grito party. Huge celebrations in Mexico City's vast downtown Zocalo, or central plaza, and in other parts of the sprawling capital promise to continue through the night and into Wednesday's wee hours. Security officials said 10,626 police will be deployed throughout Mexico City.

Mexican city warily awaits Independence Day celebrations
In Morelia, where eight people died in a grenade attack at the festivities last year, some events are canceled and new security measures are being implemented.

Mexicans begin celebrating their most cherished national holiday today, Independence Day, but indelible memories of unprecedented violence a year ago will make for a somber affair in some parts of the country.
Children's parades and outdoor parties have been canceled in many cities. Security is tight, with metal detectors set up at public squares where celebrations will take place.
Nowhere is the mood more subdued than in Morelia, capital of the western state of Michoacan and hometown of Mexican President Felipe Calderon. A year ago, it was the site of the first deliberate attack on civilians in an ever-escalating anti-drug war launched by Calderon.
It was just minutes before the traditional grito, a late-night cry for independence that re-creates the 1810 gesture by Mexican hero Miguel Hidalgo, which launched Mexico's rebellion against Spanish rule.
Mexicans everywhere pack into town plazas on the night of Sept. 15 to join in the grito, and then spend Sept. 16 celebrating independence.
In Morelia last year, as bells tolled and Michoacan Gov. Leonel Godoy began to emulate the cry, assailants tossed grenades into the crowded Colonial-era plaza. Eight people were killed and more than 100 wounded.
It was a traumatic affront, both for the target -- innocents uninvolved in the drug war -- and the timing, coming amid the most important tradition uniting Mexicans. Given the site, the attack also seemed a direct challenge to the president's authority and the offensive he has been pressing against cartels since December 2006.
Godoy declared that today will be a statewide day of mourning. But, speaking at a news conference Monday, he also said that the grito from the balcony above Morelia's town square will go ahead as scheduled. And so will a military parade planned for Wednesday.
At the same time, the usual street festival of music, food and dancing was canceled, Godoy's public security office said, and people arriving to join the ceremony in the plaza will for the first time have to pass through metal detectors.
